I have been checking reddit.com on a daily basis for work and personal use. I have found it to be a great source for story ideas and the such for the paper I work for.
I have found reddit to be a calm and collected commenting community that has a real taste for important news as well as humorous and interesting stories. As a news editor, I enjoy seeing the community choose its interests rather than the newsroom. It is quite different. It would make quite an interesting 'hyper local' community if executed the right way.
